Experience the hunt
Shallow
water sight fishing for redfish truly combines the most exciting
elements of both fishing and hunting; requiring a stealthy approach,
and rifle like accuracy. No other gamefish provides an angler
with such a visual display as redfish in shallow water.
Inhabiting
the flats and marshes of Southwest Louisiana, these large, powerful
fish feed in water that is often only inches deep. Feeding on
crabs, shrimp, baitfish, and virtually anything else that will fit
into their gaping maw; redfish in shallow water put on a display of
tails waving like flags in a breeze, and bronze backs breeching the
surface of the water.
In
addition to redfish, sheepshead, flounder and giant black drum are
often found and caught in the same shallow water environment.
.
Captain Ron Begnaud offers trips in the Calcasieu and Sabine Estuaries, both in extreme Southwest Louisiana near the Texas border. Come experience the hunt..
